Visual arts and mixed media: what we do
Working with what you have
This workshop is a deep dive into the formal elements of art, exploring how different media can be combined into a powerful visual language. We work with architectural fragments, textiles, found papers, and ink, learning to see these materials not as objects but as textures and tones that serve the composition as a whole.
Building depth and structure
We study professional techniques for layering: how different weights and transparencies create a visual history within a single piece. Each layer carries meaning, and understanding how they interact is what gives the work structural integrity and balance. We explore contrast, rhythm, and focal points, and how the strategic placement of diverse media guides the viewer's eye through the work toward a sophisticated, finished result.
The concept of resilience runs through everything we do at Romã Studio. In this workshop it becomes a thematic anchor, a framework for translating fragmented elements into a cohesive and meaningful artistic statement. What appears broken or incomplete becomes the foundation of something whole.
